Hello my name is Rashema Melson and I am currently in my Junior year of college. I left Georgetown after my sophomore year was completed, was married to a man in the military, and enrolled in Austin Peay State University. Initially I was being a coward and hoping to run away from the pressure and spotlight of the media. I was not failing but was afraid that at the end I would fail in front of the whole world. It is difficult to live your life the way you think you should when everyone is watching you and recommending how you should live your life. I prayed with God on a daily basis and knew I had made a wrong choice by marrying as an excuse to leave. I am currently divorced, and have moved back to Washington, D.C. I have been accepted back into Georgetown University to finish what I started. I am not a coward and never have been. My goals remain the same to become a forensic pathologist, and achieve what people from Southeast D.C. consider the impossible (becoming succesful). I want to work hard for success and inspire many people like me to do the same. But at the moment I am living out of my car until I go back to campus in the fall semester, which is September 1. I would love and appreciate any help anyone can offer including job offers, financial stability, or even advice. God bless you all!

I can officially say I have made it through sophomore year, and will be a junior this fall semester. I am so proud of myself, taking everything one step at a time. Most people have asked me how is school going, and school is good. It is so good I wanted to share with you all an experience from one of my favorite classes, Prison Reform Proposal GOVX. This class was about raising awareness and trying to make a change in the justice system. For our final, we had to put together a presentation to exlain our each of our propopals. There was a Before Prison, During Prison, and After Prison group. Go check us out my classmates are awesome and our presentation will move you to tears lol.
