Rally for Reese

$8,150 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 102 people in 7 months
Created July 27, 2017
We are rallying around Brad, Didre, Reese, and the whole Park family.  Reese was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, and it is a Wilms tumor.  She had a radical right nephrectomy, which means she had the tumor and a kidney completed removed.  She will now undergo 28 weeks chemo therapy and radiation treatment to her right side.  They are doing great, and we are trying to help alleviate the pressure of additional financial needs for them.  Everyone has responded so wonderfully to the mealtrain! And we all want to help as much as we can, so please join us in helping the Parks! Thank you so much!

Update on Reese from mom Didre', Thursday 8-3-17:
Reese is halfway finished with radiation therapy. She will go Friday morning and then Monday. She is having chemotherapy every Tuesday for now. This week she's been a little nauseous and gets sick when she gets home from the radiation therapy, but it doesn't last long. We suspect its from the chemo or possibly sedation they are using to keep her asleep to do the external beam radiation treatment. She has been eating pretty well, besides the normal 5 year old pickiness, drinking well, and playing. She's been riding her bike in the evenings with the family and they are encouraging her to play as usual. She's been a little more tired this week from radiation but naps and then up and playing. Dad got the kiddos a video gaming system and she's already teaching him how to use it! Kids are just good at that stuff. We are glad they are enjoying it.
We appreciate all the prayers and support from our friends and family. We are so blessed to have people helping us and supporting us in so many ways. We are using the money to pay medical bills, normal daily expenses, childcare, and help cleaning while we focus on Reese and our family. Many may not know we also had house fire a year ago, July 2016, and plan to start building on our land soon. Some money may be used for our rental and expenses with that if needed. Our insurance covers a rental for a year, that year ends in August 2017. Life has happened and we have taken care of first things first and the house keeps getting pushed back. But the fire might be a blessing since Reese is not actually supposed to be in or live in a newly built home or a home with large renovations because the risk of illness and infection. We are learning new things daily about how this will affect her and are just thankful and following God's plan. This may affect our move in date but I pray it doesn't affect the actual build and we can get started soon.
Thank you everyone who's donated and called, text, visited, fed us, and most importantly loved and prayed for Reese and our family. We are so grateful God gave us such amazing people for support so that together she can overcome this with you and Gods help. We love you all.
