Olmsted Falls High School: Instrument Repair and Replacement Fund
The band department at Olmsted Falls High School has a strong tradition of excellence in music. The students in this program are extremely passionate and driven. They compete in many adjudicated events, band shows, and extra-curricular music ensembles. Performances in the community are often standing room only, and it’s hard not to leave with a smile on your face.
Our audience and program are growing in numbers, with approximately 350 students involved in high school band. The large number of students has brought some challenges when it comes to working equipment. Despite a very active music association and supportive administration that provides us with some financial assistance, it is hard to keep up with the financial needs.
As you can see in the picture, some instruments are falling apart and are being held together with duct tape. Some students have had to switch to a different instrument, because we could not provide them with a school instrument. Our students come from having a beautiful shiny instrument at the Middle School, to an instrument that can barely play at the High School.
We want all our students at the high school to have access to a good instrument. It is our hope to continue to fuel our passionate students, but it can be difficult when they open an instrument that is unplayable. Some of our instruments are 30-40 years old. The OFHS band students need your help. Please help us by donating today!
