4.5 month old Charlee Katherine Santy is fighting for her life following a traumatic head injury on Thursday afternoon. She was rushed by ambulance from Fort Collins to Colorado Childrens Hospital in Aurora after spending the day with her child care provider. While details are still vague, we are rallying behind this sweet baby girl, praying for her recovery. Her brain bleeds and retinal hemorrhaging are under control and after 2 days in the pediatric intensive care unit she will be moved in to a recovery room and still has a long road ahead of her. Her parents, Samantha and Jeremy, are in the family therapy and education fields and have devoted their lives to helping children, but now need our help to get them through this impossible time. No parent should ever have to endure the heartbreak of watching their child suffer this way. As they work through healing within their own hearts and lives, I ask that anyone who is able to contribute financially to lighten that load for them. As details are released I will keep updates coming, but at his time there is an ongoing investigation which requires a great deal of privacy. Please keep this baby and her family in your daily prayers.32069740_1534019945375198_r.jpeg32069740_1534019959160199_r.jpeg32069740_1534019969296343_r.jpeg32069740_153402000114566_r.jpeg32069740_1534020025951983_r.jpeg

It has been almost a month since this happened. Charlee seems to be doing well and is doing what 5 month old babies are supposed to do. She still has some residual blood from her retinal hemorrhaging but all in in all she is doing well. Long-term it is impossible to know if there will be issues in the future and just how bad it could be. Sam and Jeremy are juggling their schedules so that one of them is with Charlee all the time and to take her down to Denver for tests and rehab every week. This is a terrible part of life's journey but they have love for one another and support from everybody around them to see this through and get the best outcome possible.

Meanwhile the daycare provider involved has been charged with felony child abuse resulting in serious injury and spent a weekend in jail before bonding out. This part will be tough for everyone as they will have to relive this trauma over and over again.

Thank you to everyone who is staying involved in this journey and supported Sam, Jeremy and Charlee in any way you can!

We finally have HUGE information to share, with a fantastic breakthrough! Baby girl Charlee was abused by her care giver just over two weeks ago, resultimg in her official arrest at 1 pm today. She will be in custody until her hearing on Monday afternoon. She is being charged with an F3 felony: child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury. This is every parent's greatest fear and we never think it can happen to our own child. And then, it does. Sam and Jeremy are now passionate about informing people and educating others about the very real danger of what can happen when your child is in the care of others. It is truly unfathomable that anyone could hurt an innocent and helpless child, but it does happen. Charlee is a tough little girl and a true fighter and I know we are all inspired by her perserverance. We are thankfuk that after two weeks of non stop work and long hard hours, law enforcement has done an incredible job. We are thankful for all of your support, prayers, donations and love. Now, we are determined to seek justice for little Charlee.

Wow, what an incredible support system to help rally for Charlee. She finally made it home to sleep in her own bed Saturday night and for the first time in a week slept 8 straight hours. This week she has to follow up with ophthalmology, neurology, and neurosurgery doctors. She will be seeing physical, occupational and speech therapists each week on top of that. Sam, Jeremy and and baby girl will be traveling down to Denver at least once a week for appointments. The final insurance bill from the hospital stay last week is still unknown but for now they are going to have to pay out of pocket for many upcoming appointments until they figure out how to get Charlee's care covered moving forward (as much as possible) which means some appointments are going to cost hundreds of dollars out of pocket. Please know that each dollar donated is beyond appreciated, and that every cent is going directly towards this sweet baby's recovery. Thank you everyone for your help and love.

Charlee is getting out of the hospital today. She has been there for just over a week, and the care provided by the incredible team at Childrens Hospital is second to none. Sam and Jeremy have been strong for one another, strong for their helpless little girl, and even strong for those of us who when seeing Charlee bandaged up and sedated were unable to keep it together. They are truly inspirational, and have been through hardship no person should ever have to endure.

Now it is a different kind of terrifying. Sam and Jeremy will have to live with a new normal. Many months of ongoing doctor appointments and therapy lie ahead for this sweet girl. They may be faced with new challenges as Charlee continues to grow and develop, as much of the damage done to Charlee's brain will result in "wait and see" situations. Helplessness is a scary concept for any parent.

Your continued support, positive thoughts and prayers will definitely help ease the stress on Charlee and her parents. Portions of her medical expenses will not be covered by insurance, and the ongoing visits and therapy moving forward will continue to strain their finances. A deep, genuine and heartfelt thank you to everyone that has been part of this overwhelming display of compassion and support for this little family.

Please share. Please continue to donate as you are able. Please pray, pray and pray some more.
