Raising Money for Aurora, CO Elementary

I am a small local Colorado business owner who would like to help my client and friend Maren Getz raise money for her elementary school. We are raising money for a local Aurora, CO elementary school to help teachers with all the "little things" that their students and classrooms need. Please take a moment to read what Maren has wrote and is asking for. All donations will go directly into gift cards that will be used for the students and their classrooms.
We would like to encourage our friends and clients to donate and in return we will give 10% off any service at our spa, Allure Skincare and Lash in Denver, for $25 or more donated.
Here is Maren:
I would like to introduce myself and take the time to tell you a little about the students I teach. My name is Maren Getz and I am a teacher at Crawford Elementary School in Aurora. Being a part of Crawford and its community for the past 13 years has taught me countless lessons and I have grown personally and professionally because of my time here.
Crawford is located in northwest Aurora on 17th and Florence. More than 90% of the students are eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch and over 70% are learning English as a second language. In fact, our 482 students speak 23 distinct languages this year. While diversity is Crawford’s strength, it also presents some challenges. Some students come to school with the supplies they need, but most classroom materials are purchased by teachers using their $250/year budget and personal funds. Teacher provided supplies and materials are taken home by many students so they are able to successfully complete homework assignments.
Students are provided with breakfast and lunch every day, but access to healthy snacks is also a need often filled by teachers. In fact, many of our students face some form of food insecurity. Last week Crawford opened a food pantry and 50 families used it on the first day.
I know that many individuals and families go above and beyond to support important causes in their communities, especially this time of year. I have never asked for anything for my students or my school before, but Tari has encouraged me to reach out to you through her. As you consider supporting your community this year, I would humbly ask you to consider the incredible students at Crawford. We do not need much, but a few things that would really support us.
General schools supplies (sticky notes, cap erasers, pink erasers, dry erase markers, flash cards, index cards, etc.)
Art supplies (colored pencils, markers, crayons, water colors)
Kleenex and disinfectant wipes
Snacks that support healthy eating
Beyond meeting the basic needs of Crawford’s students, they would also benefit from and enjoy items such as play doh, small lego sets, books - including gently used books, or simple playground toys (jump ropes, bouncy balls, etc.)
I greatly appreciate the time you took today to learn a little bit about the extraordinary students at Crawford Elementary School and I wish you and yours a peaceful and happy holiday season
