Baby Lemy Arrives Three and a half months Premature

Baby Lemy was due in January 2017, however as fate would have it, on October 8 Th. 10:30 am, Lemy Kathleen Kilton the darling little daughter of Maria Desmond and Scott Kilton was born. Lemy was born 1 lb. 13oz and she is three and half months premature. She entered the world incredibly early but she did so with strength and beauty. She is small but mighty she is fighting a battle everyday.

The family needs help with bills, traveling expenses and food. Maria had planned on working until mid November to save more money but all their plans changed quickly and dramatically. They are in survival mode and needs immediate help. As Lemy grows stronger they will also need items to bring the baby home, but they are looking at least until January when Lemy will be able to join her sisters and family. They are getting by on their savings, which will be quickly depleted. Every dollar donated would go towards supporting Lemy in the hospital and expenses

On the morning of October 7th, Maria woke up feeling sick and an intuitive maternal instinct that something was wrong with the pregnancy.  She went to the midwives who told her she was in labor 2 cm. She was in labor and immediately got to Maine Med where they began to prep her for the worst. They let her labor and she desperately tried to delay delivery as Maria knew every moment and every hour was vital for the fetus developement. The time came where she couldn't hold on any longer and knew the baby was going to be born.  They prepped her for a c-section with a spinal and Maria had a terrible reaction to the medication and crashed. They stabilized her and brought her into the operating room.  In a just a short time Scott would announce to Maria they had a beautiful baby girl and then they heard her cry for the first time. Doctors advised them that they might not hear a cry, so this was the most beautiful sound they could have heard.

A Little History on the Family

Maria and Scott are both avid hikers and outdoors people, so when they had their best  news to share with their friends and family they figured what better way to do it than on top of a summit that means so much to them.  So on June 26 Th.,  Maria, Scott, Ruby, Lucy and a tribe of friends (me being one of them), climbed to the top of Tumbledown Mountain and announced that they were expecting a baby in January 2017. Maria made signs for the girls to hold up and little buttons that read "big sister". The day was magical as the young family and their friends climbed Mt Tumbledown, Weld Maine, to make the announcement. We spent the better part of the day on top of the mountain swimming in a pond that is nestled in between the summits. The girls were chatting all the way up and down talking about being big sisters. It really was a spectacular day, bluebird skies, warm and the group was full of love and excitement. When we finally reached the bottom, Maria had packed fresh fruit for everyone (huge treat). Her heart is huge and her happiness is contagious. Truly a day of celebrating, because soon she would announce the good news via photo from the summit to all her friends! JOY!!

They are working hard at keeping the normalcy in the girl's lives and driving an hour each way to the hospital everyday where Maria brings Lemy vital mothers milk. Maria and Scott don't feel right asking for help, but they are living a difficult reality. They know they need the help of family, friends and community. Therefore I took on (gratefully) the task of asking for help. All their attention now is focused on Lemy getting stronger each day!

Our Goals

Our goal is to take some of the pressure of everyday life off of Scott and Maria so they can just focus on Lemy and the girls. In addition to a Go fund me page we have set up a fundraisers that the community can be involved in. Paint night, baby shower, and local business have either donated their establishments to use for our fundraisers or goods for auctions. We have set up a meal schedule to be delivered to her house so she can spend quality time with her little girls.

Please help us! Donations are gratefully accepted. Kindness and love is what this family is all about and its important that they feel the same. We thank you so much for any thing you can donate. Comments are encouraged but PLEASE only POSITIVE. Updates will also be provided on the gofundme page.
