We want to start a garden of raised beds for local people to grow vegetables. Alongside this we will start an Iron Age garden for educational purposes.
All this will take place in the Park in the Past in Hope near Wrexham in North Wales.
The raised veg beds fits in with the parks aims to include the local community in using and becoming invested in the park.
The Iron Age garden ties in with the parks other objective of bringing a first century landscape back to life by building and Iron age farm and Roman fort.
As you can see, we have made a start, but there is only so much two women can do with a mattock!Yes I know that’s not a mattock!
The cash will be used to buy railway sleepers to build the beds, a digger to clear the site, posts for a fence ( we will source the infill pieces from wood on the site ) and postcrete to anchor the posts.
We also want to make the site totally accessible.
