Raise the Gomez House

Aloha! We are fundraising to raise my family's house. During this recent Wainiha flood the river came through the house and almost took it away. Endangering the lives of everyone in the home. We lost many possessions including 2 trucks, a car, personal items in the house and many yard machine tools. We are just grateful that everyone is safe.

This is a historic house built by my Great-great-grandmother in 1967, the first house ever to be built on this road. The house has withstood hundreds of floods as well as Hurricane Iniki and Iwa.  However, in order for it to survive and endure any future floods that occur here in Wainiha valley, we need to raise the house up 5 feet higher and support it with stronger columns. The estimated cost of this project is $80,000. Any materials or assistance would be helpful. We humbly ask for any help possible.
