Hi, I’m Saar. I’m 41 years old, married to an amazing woman, and about to become a dad for the first time. I am also battling ALS. In a time when most families are getting excited for their newborn I am fighting like crazy to stay alive to be here for my wife and upcoming child (a daughter). While doctors don’t give hope, I refuse to quit because there is just way too much to live for. I have tried any type of medical and eastern European treatment I can find and have depleted my life savings - fighting for a chance to live.
I went to any possible treatment that medicine could offer. I've even been in China for a stem cell therapy. Unfortunately, these came with no success and the disease continued to deteriorate to a stage where I am now in a wheel chair without the ability to control my legs. I barely move my hands anymore, and struggle with daily but essential life tasks, such as eating. During this period, I lost my job and have depleted my live saving trying everything possible to extend my lifespan to be here for my family. While there are no guarantees, I am taking every possible opportunity for the minor chance of stopping the progression of my ALS. Recently, I discovered that there is an innovative treatment in Seol University, South-Korea. This treatment has proven to be a breakthrough for ALS, halting the disease from further deteriorating and making the patient that went through it, smile again. During this surgical procedure, bone marrow is removed and rinsed of the ill cells before returning the healthy cells back to the body. This seems to be the sign, my wife and I, have been waiting, during this past horrible year. However, the treatment costs 138 thousand dollars, which is not something I can afford anymore (if I only found about it a year ago). The bank refuse to loan us any money as it is obvious, for them, that we don't have the ability to return it. I'm willing to do anything to make it happen, as I understand that this is my last chance to live and be there for my wife and my future daughter. Therefore, I'm asking for anyone who can help me and donate something to make it happen, even a small amount can help. I begging for the opportunity to stop this disease and continue with my life, which even in a wheel chair, is better than what I'm about to suffer........ I’d be most grateful for your support and help with outreach.
