Raise for Rufus Fund

This is Rufus.  Rufus is a 4 and a half year old bundle of goofball who lives for the Chuck-it, chasing tennis balls into the willows and laying in the sun.  In March, Rufus had two Grand Mal (tonic-colonic) seizures in 24 hours, of unexplained origin.  After multiple trips to the vet here in Summit, a road trip to CSU for a neurological evaluation, and some creative medication, I believed we had started to reach a status quo.  We were unable to determine the root cause of his seizures from blood tests and a basic neuro work up and I made the decision to start him on anti-seizure medication to (hopefully) prophylactically control his seizure activity.  After managing the (many) side effects from the medication, it seemed like we had hit a good stride.  We have been ostensibly seizure free since the first witnessed episodes.
Unfortunately, last night he suffered another tonic-colonic seizure at home.  While I was able to get some Valium on board to calm his seizure activity last night, it is clear there is something deeper going on.  Right now we are just treating the symptom; The only way to determine the cause of his seizures is to do a full neurological workup.  This workup through the CSU Vet hospital starts at ~$3600 and up.  That does not include travel costs to and from Fort Collins as well as any additional procedures/prescriptions that add on.
Those of you who know Rufus know that he is my four-legged child.  He is my family, my companion.  He is the being that greets me with exuberant excitement every time I walk through the door and my shoulder to cry on when I'm having a bad day.  He is still so young and full of life, and we have so many more adventures left to explore.  I would be eternally grateful for any help you can give.  I am generally reluctant to ask for help in general, but my four legged baby needs help now... and outside of Chewbacca noises he is not a very effective communicator.  If we can figure out what is causing the seizures we can treat them more effectively, and give him a chance to just be the carefree "puppy" crashing into the willows for many more years.  Thank you for taking the time and for any help you can give.  I appreciate ALL of you amazing people in our lives!
