Radio Show Satellite/Related Costs
Donativo protegido
We are now closing this campaign and THANK YOU to each person who contributed! I have sent a personal email to every individual and I truly am humbled by your kind words, your friendship and your support! We have now paid for the satellite and insurance that this was intended for - our modest surplus prior to starting this got us over the top! So, even though we did not completely hit our stated target, we came close enough to get the job done! And THAT is what counts - getting the job done! I am hopeful we will not need this again next year - our growth could and should make this unnecessary - but I truly cannot thank you enough for being THE reason we are still here! With long term sustainability so tantalizingly close! While closing this campaign, we will convert the "Donate" button on our website into a "Donate Beyond The Norm podcast giveaways" to be announced and given away on the show, so that actual value is being given and received for every dollar that comes in! This truly IS a group project and I cannot thank you enough for being a big part of it! We are doing something meaningful! Norm

This is how we began our campaign:
These funds pay for the satellite that transmits our radio show to the radio stations that carry our show, plus related costs, like insurance. These are annual payments, done at the end of each August. I have restructed the expenses of the show, so that this year we need less than in years past and we very well may not need this campaign next year at all - we are that close to break even! In fact, the separate, specialized transmission circuits that we pay for as well (and was a part of this campaign in the two past years) to send the show from our Los Angeles studio to the Denver, Colorado satellite center, is not in this campaign. That expense is now due in December, broken off separately for this and future years. And, as explained below, we are getting close to break even, so we can very likely cover that now-separate transmission-line expense in December! With a little luck, this could be our last GoFundMe campaign and no one would be happier than me!
We started this journey many years ago. The Norman Goldman Show launched September 8, 2009, after several years as part of the Ed Schultz Radio Show. We teach law, civics and politics three hours daily, Monday through Friday, by using current events to teach off of - and to learn things no one else teaches. We also have fun, with silly sound clips and humor. We have worked slowly and steadily towards the break even point and we are close. We have invested much into the show; it has been a very challenging business environment. Our monthly expenses are being covered by our podcasters and over-the-air ad revenue. This is the last "gap" in our annual budget. We are also now starting to generate a small monthly surplus. I hope that, by this time next year, that monthly surplus will accumulate so we will be completely even! I HOPE! And I thank YOU for being a part of this very special journey! We are doing something meaningful!
