Rachel's No Barriers Parachute Jump

I'm Rachel, a Letterkenny native who is taking on a sponsored parachute jump in aid of the No Barriers Foundation.
This August, I will be leaping from a plane over Donegal Aiport and free falling from 10,000-12,500ft in the air.
Carrickfinn is known for its scenic views, but the sight of me plunging to the ground at 200km/hr will not be pleasant! The above photo is me parasailing last year, before flying at 1,000ft, so 12 times that will be a face of pure terror.
Why am I doing this? It's all for the No Barriers Foundation, a Donegal-based charity which supports the rehabilitation of people with severe mobility problems.
No Barriers - Positive Steps Campaign
Proceeds from this parachute jump will go towards the purchase of an Ekso Bionic Suit for Donegal - a world class suit that enables patients with spinal cord injuries to walk again whilst in the machine.
The suit aids patients who never thought they would walk or even stand again and gives them hope through an unparalleled rehabilitation experience.
A fund of €150,000 is being raised to purchase and operate the suit over the coming years for the Donegal community. The tool will be facilitated by a specially trained Neuro Physiotherapist.
There are 64 people in Donegal with spinal cord injury and approx. 276 diagnosed with MS who could benefit from training in the suit as it is brought to local communities.
There are 4 Ekso Bionic Suits in Ireland, with the nearest in Westmeath. The suits give patients greater mobility and independence, and I want to help No Barriers make this possible for people in my home county.
