On June 2nd, We will be taking part in The Cork City Marathon to raise funds for The Grace Nolan Foundation.
The Grace Nolan Foundation is a registered charity inspired by Grace, who died, aged 9, from Hereditary Hemorrhagic Talangiectasia (HHT).
HHT is a genetic disease that causes malformed blood vessels leading to sudden and extreme bleeding throughout the body. In some cases, this can lead to brain hemorrhage, stroke or heart failure. There is currently no cure but the disease is treatable if diagnosed promptly. Most of the public are still unaware of the disease and it is relatively unfamiliar in the medical community.

We are beyond grateful already for the number of our close friends who have decided to get involved with us once again this year. There will be over 60 of us in total taking part on the day so best of luck to everyone. We will be in Deep South from around 4pm onwards after the race and, even if you are not taking part, please join us for a few!
All money raised will go to the National HHT Centre in The Mercy Hospital in Cork. The centre's mission is to identify individuals and families with HHT to offer them optimal management of their specific manifestations of the condition, and to screen them for occult manifestations, with a view to treating potentially dangerous manifestations prophylactically, before they cause serious ill-health or death.
