Moving Costs

My contract with Interac as an ALT has come to an end and I have to leave my apartment on March 8th. I do not have time to save up for the trip back to the States and I had been receiving good feedback on my performance so that this comes as a somewhat rude surprise. My severance pay of one month's salary won't arrive in my account until the 20th of March (it's arranged to be delivered to my American account) and getting my Japanese pension is going to take even longer. Moving costs are getting close to $3000 which are hitting my credit cards almost entirely.

A friend of mine has encouraged me to look into a gofundme campaign as a way to defray some of the costs and others have backed them up.

The money will be dropped right back in to pay off all of the expenses so that I can use my severance and pension to live on while looking for stable work.
