Help Jeanne Keep Custody of Brianna

Last week, our cousin Dawn died suddenly and very unexpectedly from complications following a stroke, and surgery to repair a hole in her heart and blood clots in her lungs.

She left behind her 3 year old daughter, Brianna. Dawn and Brianna had been living with our aunt, Jeanne.

Dawn had some health insurance, so her medical bills should mostly be taken care of. However, she did not have any funeral plans or life insurance, so all remaining costs will be left to her parents.

Dawn's husband, Jason, is in prison until November, and has been for the majority of their marriage and Brianna's life. Jeanne has been an integral part of raising Brianna, certainly more than her father.

Jeanne would like to continue raising her granddaughter, to help keep stability in her life and ensure she has consistency of care. She has consulted a lawyer, and has been quoted about $4000 to get custody of Brianna.

We are raising money to help Jeanne cover the legal costs and any other costs associated with Dawn's passing. Any extra funds will go toward Brianna's education.
