Brittany's Van Fund

Brittany is a 29 year old lady with personality as big as the world.  She is always ready to give a hug and tell you she loves you, being around her just makes you feel good.  She was born with spina bifida and is paralyzed from the waist down.  She got a new electric wheelchair in 2014 which makes her more independent with her mobility around the house.  Her parents have a 2005 van that is not able to have a wheelchair lift installed.  Brittneys parents are the most dedicated parents I have ever meet, her Mom Karen has been her caretaker since day one, in a recent conversation I learned that even though Britt has a catheter she has never had an infection her Moms care is so thorough.  The new wheelchair is very heavy and the lifting has become a problem and a safety issue.  Now when Britt has a medical appointment both parents have to go as Karen cannot do the lifting so Dad is missing work and the appointments are a two hour drive.  A handicap wheelchair accessable van would give this social girl more freedom, both to get to medical appointments and social events, for the past two years she has basically been housebound its time for Britt to be able to go to the local mall, participate in the local sheltered workshop, go for an ice cream, see fireworks.  We are calling this Brittanys do van.  If you can help please do this girl is extraordinary and deserves it and so do her parents.
