Waggoner Family Missions Trip
During this trip we will be teaching English in the schools as well as running a sports camp after school. We will also have the opportunity to work with and train some of the local volunteers. Another blessing is we will be able to continue to build relationships with the friends we have made there. In addition to the week long missions trip, our family will be staying an extra couple weeks to explore ministries in the area to see how God wants to use us there.
We will be leaving on July 25th with River of Life and returning sometime in August. We are asking for both prayer and financial support. We are inviting you to be a part of this experience with us. Our desire is to enlist 15 people who will pray with us daily (3 people for each person in our family) through our training and our time in Nicaragua. There is also an opportunity to be a part of our personal financial support team. We need to raise close to $10,000 for this trip. We will pay this through contributing ourselves, fundraising and through donations. We are trusting that because God has called to Masatepe, He will provide us with the money we need to participate in this missions trip.
We are specifically asking for prayer for God’s wisdom, direction and discernment for our family’s future in Nicaragua. We are also asking prayer for safety, protection and health as we serve Him. Please pray for God to mold the hearts of our younger girls, Audrey and Elaina, as they have not yet been to Nicaragua.
If you would be interested in supporting us through prayer and/or financial donation, we would love to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to read about the opportunity we have this summer and for prayerfully considering your involvement in our support team. Please also pray about supporting us monthly, if God leads us to the mission field.

We just completed an initial application through one organization. We are also looking into other mission organizations. We would love your prayers for God's direction as to which organization to partner with in Nicaragua.
One other area we would appreciate prayer for is our church's week long missions trip for this January. While the whole family would obviously like to be part of it, we know financially that is not the best decision. However, we feel that at least a couple of us should be there to continue building relationships for the future.
Please pray God's leading as we decide which of us will go on the trip. Blessings to all of you who continue to support us.

The first week of the trip we were there with River of Life Church. Highlights of the week include Nicole leading a training for approximately 100 children and youth leaders, the team teaching English in a local high school, and a track and field camp for about 70 children. Probably the best thing about the camp was that the children were more excited to receive their Bible than they were an athletic certificate.
A t the camp, Audrey had the opportunity to co-lead a preschool group and did an amazing job! Laina was comfortable being in Nicaragua from the moment she stepped off the plane. She instantly made friends. These two events are huge answers to prayers that God would work in the hearts of the two younger girls who had never been to Nicaragua before this trip.
One of the best parts of the week was that we were able to further develop the relationships with the Nicaraguan youth and young adults. The River of Life team ended the week with an afternoon and evening youth activity. The amazing thing with this trip is how quickly the connections were made between the ROL youth and the local youth.
After the ROL team left our family stayed an extra 10 days in Nicaragua to explore where God would have us serve in the future. The first few nights we stayed with a local family in a typical Nicaraguan home. It was a humbling experience to be invited into their home and treated as family. The rest of the time we stayed with an American couple. We are thankful for both places because we were able to experience different areas of the city and connect with different people in each area.
Our first day we were able to visit our Compassion child. This was an incredible experience! The girls really connected with her. We were able to visit her school and her home.
Besides the first day we didn't have a specific agenda for the remainder of the trip. We had a list of things we were planning to do, but nothing set-up. This is unusual and not how we normally plan a trip! But it turned out to be such a blessing because God had the trip planned for us.
During the rest of the trip we were able to explore the area, visit and volunteer at schools, help with different local ministries and meet with both Americans and Nicaraguans to share the vision God has given us for our future. That vision is youth outreach along with youth development. Throughout each encounter God was present. We felt no resistance as we shared what God has laid on our hearts.
Towards the end of our trip we were able to organize a trip to the beach for some of the youth and young adults who we have built strong relationships with. There was a mutual feeling of family. Our girls love all the "kids" we have gotten to know. They treat us as though we belong in Nicaragua. All five of us feel at home there.
We are feeling God calling us to full time ministry. Our next step is to find an agency to partner with. We will then begin fundraising and training. Please prayerfully consider supporting us financially on a monthly basis. And please continue to lift us up in prayer as we continue this process.
Thank you again. This trip would not have been possible without you. If you would like further details or to see pictures of our trip, or to hear about our future plans we would be happy to share more with you.
