Kathryn was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndroms) recently from her OBGYN. With this condition, weightloss and medication would help with conception of a child. As an extra step, the OB decided to do a full infertility workup to rule everything else out. Upon this, he confirmed PCOS beyond a shadow of a doubt, but found that Kathryn's fallopian tubes were blocked, meaning normal PCOS treatments would help for overall Health, but not conception.
Edward and Kathryn are both active duty military, serving their country. The OBGYN claimed a slight chance of conception with clomid, a drug that induces ovulation. He did recommend IVF. Because of their active duty status, Edward and Kathryn have coverage, but it is seen as an elective procedure and covers nothing with IVF.
We have found a good clinic in Las Vegas, NV who had a great reputation and one of the leading Drs in IVF procedures. They offer a discounted price for Active duty, but all in all, we are still looking at upwards of $20,000 overall.
