Montenegrin Mountain to Sea Dog Rescue

A roadtrip to the mountains turned into a mission to help the stray dogs of Montenegro. Our passion to help came from a brave little mountain pup, Shiloh, who found his way into our campervan with Parvo virus, and needed emergency vet care to save his life.

The harsh mountain winters had us realize that all of these adventurous young pups would have no place to turn for food, care and warmth. Many of them never reach adulthood and suffer from worms, infections, flea infestations, abuse, starvation and disease. 

We searched around for nearby help; fosters, vets and everyone that could guide us to hopeful solutions. Una Watts and her partner Chris were two of the selfless people behind the rescues of many dogs left alone in Montenegro. With a house and yardful of rescues already, they are hoping to expand their fenced space and build a few wooden dog houses to keep them warm in the winter and during the nights. They spend their days and nights rescuing, caring, and finding forever homes for the beautiful dogs and cats they share a roof with.

Our goal is to support locals like Una and Chris who are making a big difference in the stray dogs lives. If we can raise enough funds, we will be able to help more projects happening in order to fill more of the needs of local rescuers doing the heartfelt groundwork. We have found a few animal caregivers who are willing to lend their barn to home stray dogs that would need a place to stay during the vaccination and neutering process. These are next steps that we hope to reach with your continued support.
