Help a local family have a home.
They came to San Pedro to try to sell local clothes and crafts to the tourists that come through in abundance here. They set up their "stand" daily on the side of an abandoned building. They do not have a home and have to pay every night to stay at a very run down hostal. They pay $4 per night to stay all together in one room, with one bed, no blankets and no kitchen. Any food they buy, is packaged or prepared.
The days they sell nothing, they will owe to the hostal to sleep and have no money for food. Sometimes, they sell enough to pay for their room, and eat, but in the slower tourist season, they are in debt to the hotel for weeks and have no money for food and have to go hungry. Now that Carolina is not breastfeeding, they have another mouth to feed.
Last year they approached me about loaning them money to buy a small one room house, so they have a place to live and cook. I have not worked in a long time and have no money to give them... although I still try to help out with food and lodging.
They can buy a small house for $600 and have enough left over to pay for Daniel's school for 2 years! I would love to raise as much money as I can for this very sweet, gentle family. I have come to care greatly for them, and would love to see them get on their feet! Please help out as much as you can, even $5 will help them sleep and eat for one day. Thank you for your generosity! I will post again, when they receive what we can raise for them!
P.S. the cute white girl is Milla, my friend's daughter who they loooove!
Also, Nicole Gowan via facebook is offering her commissions for any Arbonne product she sells.
Todd Canning is selling homemade wooden yoga blocks for $10 minimum and is donating all the money to the cause. Anything anyone can do would be extremely helpful! Bake sale, karma yoga class, "healing services", if you can come up with something to help, this family might actually get a home in a month! Thank you for all your help!
As of right now, the money we have raised so far is covering their costs of living through the low season and into the high season. Thank you everyone, they and I are so so grateful!
I would still love to change their lives! The focus now will be on sending Daniel to a good school. It costs $525 a year and includes breakfast! Also, to help cover the cost of living, we would need approximately $1500 a year more. If we can keep sharing, and raising more money (either for a house or for school), this would make a huge change for this wonderful family in need. THANK YOU PLEASE SHARE!
