It is beautiful to see how God is providing for every detail in this process just as He promises.
Please consider being a part of this story, as all donations will go to providing for her three sons Deonte, Traveair, and Torrian.

About Cordette:
Have you ever picked up the phone to hear these words? Or have had a conversation begin with this phrase?
“God bless you, I love you, how are you today?”  Is how Cordette Grantling starts every conversation and, she means it.

A love as true, and as genuine as Cordette’s love for people is nothing short of a miracle. It has been a full circle journey for Cordette now living in the home she once ran away from at age 13. Her life today is marked by the acts of selfless love that she shows to others, specifically young mothers and their children.  Over the last 28 years lives has been changed through Cordette’s open arms. Ever since Cordette was young she felt she needed to care for children, and she has been doing just that. Sacrificing her time to love these little ones and working vigorously to put food on the table for them. She has taken in some 100 kids into her home. She started taking care her first child, Andre when she was 22. They are still in touch today. Sometimes the children stay for a week, while their mothers try to get back on their feet and sometimes longer. Currently she has legal guardianship of Deonte (17), Trevaire (11), and Torrion (9). She is raising the boys as her own and continues to teach them to serve and love others the way she does. Cordette never ceases to bless others, simply out of the love overflowing from within. Never a single request in return, it is pure love.

Cordette has become a crutch of support for her Northwestern Detroit neighborhood. She has worked closely with the organization Beyond Basics to provide for the needs of  local children. When kids needed clothing, she gathered donations. When she recognized a  neighborhood full of children who needed to be loved on, she helped organize a summer day camp.  The community sees her as force of love to be reckoned with! “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)  Whenever there is a need Cordette will respond.

She dreams bigger still today, as God reveals ways in which she can continue to bless others.

Cordette has said that when you are being attacking by the devil you know you have been doing something for the kingdom of God. Last month, Cordette was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and stage 4 lung cancer. Even still, her faith is strong.

However, due to this illness she is no longer able to work. This does not change the financial responsibilities she has for her home and three boys (food, clothing, house bills, gas and every other daily need). In addition, medical expenses are accumulating.

It has always been the right time to bless others in Cordette’s eyes. But, now it is the time for Cordette to be blessed.
