Over the years, Annie Nice has been such a gift to Raleigh and to the Irish community here. To many of us, she IS the face of Ireland. Her boundless energy, generous spirit and enormous heart have helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for charities and for so many deserving people in our community. We are asking you mirror Annie's spirit and to donate to this fund.
On Tuesday night, January 26, 2016, Annie was attacked and mugged less than 5 yards from her front doorstep. She was hit in the back of the head, thrown to the ground, and dragged by three young people after coming home from a meeting. Annie spent the night at the hospital and is very thankful to the Raleigh Police Department, Wake County EMS, and the staff at WakeMed. Her beloved daughter Roxanne and her dear friend Pete Pagano were at her bedside. She is home now, but her head and body are in a great deal of pain. She is in a surgical neck brace for the next eight weeks and may require surgery due to injured ligaments from being dragged.
We're asking you, her friends and people she loves, to donate to this fund to help support Annie financially at this difficult time. Annie recently took a huge step and started her own event-planning company, "Irish Mother Productions". She has been dreaming of this opportunity for a long time, and we're excited to see what the future holds for her. Her injuries, though, and the potential for surgery will make it difficult for her to earn an income for at least the next several months. Please donate generously from your heart to help with this loss of income and for current and future medical bills.
