"I Know I Should" 7" Vinyl Record

My name is Luke Messimer. I have been writing music since I was 11 years old. It's the first thing I truly loved.

Over the years I have fronted plenty of bands, been a hired gun for bands all up and down the West Coast and have reinvented myself numerous times through different monikers and band line-ups. Now, I finally feel like I've found my sound. I've gotten rid of the monikers and bands and now it's just me, Luke Messimer.

With the help of some good friends, I've recently put together a band here in Boise. We've been playing shows around town and have started to get a good little following. Honestly, it's the first time I've felt validated in my music in a very long time. This little bump of love from the Boise community encouraged me to give this thing a real chance.

What does a real chance look like? Well it's doing more than just putting my songs out on Soundcloud and Bandcamp and hoping someone will notice me. It's making a real physical record. It's putting my name and face on something that can't be deleted or dragged to the recycle bin on my desktop. It's creating something I stand by and will stand by for the rest of my life. "I Know I Should" is the beginning of that chance.

I wrote this song very quickly. The good ones always come that way. It started as a little guitar riff reminiscent of something I wrote a decade ago for my band Mississippi Man. At first I shrugged it off as just muscle memory throwing in a few funky notes. But I couldn't shake it. After fleshing out the idea, it became very clear to me that this was something I couldn't throw out. Twenty minutes later, the song was there. The lyrics, the verses, the chorus, the bridge, everything. And it was the best thing I've written in years.

I booked time at a local recording studio and we managed to take that song from good to great in 6 hours. This song is the first of 10 that will be included on my new record. It's the best example of what that record will sound like and I feel it deserves to be heard and promoted in the right way.

I've never had my music on a vinyl record. Mostly because it's very expensive. Even discount pressing can run well over $1,000. That being said, we're asking for the bare minimum just to get us started on this extremely expensive process. Why? Because this song deserves it, my band members deserve it, and you beautiful fans and friends deserve it.

Please help this dream come true. You won't regret it.

I love you.
