Quest for Camelot - Study Abroad

I can’t say that I’ve always wanted to be a photographer, but as a teen I’d I find myself spending hours dedicated to finding the perfect subject, the perfect time, or the perfect lighting. When I graduated high school, I contemplated pursuing a career in photography; however "the what-ifs" took hold - what if I’m not good enough? what if I can't find a job? what if I do find a job, but it can't support me?

After much deliberation, the "what ifs" won. I took the expected route and majored in business (ugh!). I got a job in IT support, but photography was always what I wanted to do. On lunch breaks, during my limited free time, and in the middle of car rides I’d find myself snapping photo after photo, even if no one was ever going to see them. When people did see my work they asked me to photograph their weddings, their lives, their most precious moments. I was a decent photographer but I knew I could be better. With the support and encouragement of my amazing friends and family, I returned to school to pursue my dreams.

I’ve been working full time to pay for school and after eight years (yes, I know I should be a Dr. by now), I will finally graduate with my photography degree. And as hoped, I am a better photographer. My work is already being featured in art shows and publications and I am humbled by the acknowledgement from my peers and professors. As graduation approaches, I have been presented with a special opportunity to expand my skills further: to travel to England and join the "Quest for Camelot - Study Abroad" program I have saved the majority of the tuition, but I’m $2,000 short of my goal, and time is not on my side.

And fate can be cruel, as I recently suffered a serious loss when my camera, lenses, tripod and memory cards were stolen, along with other important items. The thieves were smart enough to leave my textbooks, so I have that going for me.

If you’ve read this far you must either:

A. Really like me, or
B. Care about my future (who else would be that interested in an average guy’s life?)

Here is my simple question. Will you help me? Every donation makes a difference. If you have the means, then let me say "thank you" with free copies of my photographs from my program as I document the legend of Camelot. My class and I will be following the Legend of King Arthur and at the conclusion of the program we will produce a book featuring our work. You can see previous programs’ work here.

Even if you can’t contribute funds, please consider helping by sharing my campaign and following me on Facebook and Instagram.
