 EAGLE, CO
Eagle Valley Elementary School (EVES) is a Dual Language, International Baccalaureate (IB) World School located in the town of Eagle, CO. We have 334 students at our school of which 52% are English Language Learners.  The EVES Playground Committee is raising funds to purchase new playground equipment and shade sails for our children’s play yard.  Our playground is tired!  Some of the equipment dates back to when the school was built in 1973 and other pieces are showing wear and tear from years of use.  With continuous state cuts to education, there is no money available from our district to replace our playground.

The mission of the Playground Committee is to implement an IB themed playground that is safe and accessible for all students and can be used as an outdoor learning classroom by teachers.  The IB themed playground will extend student knowledge, curiosity and understanding of the IB Units of Inquiry, Attitudes and Attributes that are studied in the classroom.

Our committee is applying for a Great Outdoor Colorado (GOCO) Play Yard Initiative Grant this fall and we hope to use the funds to replace the current playground and provide some much needed shade through the purchase of shade sails.  In order to apply for the GOCO grant, we are required to raise $10,000 cash plus an additional $15,000 in in-kind donations/cash by the time we turn in the application.  To start raising the funds we need, we are planning a fun, community involved Fiesta Fun Run event May 3rd in which we not only hope to raise $5,000 by hosting a 5K/1 Mile Race with a Fiesta after the race, but also bring our English and Spanish speaking communities closer together.  But we need help!  Please help us reach our goal of raising $25,000 by donating to our cause.  We appreciate your donations and support.  Thank you!

Thanks to everyone for your continued support of the EVES Playground project! Our Fiesta Fun Run Event raised an additional $5k towards the playground and also brought our kids, parents and educators together for a wonderful event. We had tons of support from the local community, with many volunteers from our school & local businesses, as well as two local bands that provided great entertainment for all.

Let's continue to spread the word about our new playground and let all of your friends & family know about our project and our great community!

Thanks again for all of your support!
