Maria's Recovery

This is my mom, Maria. She is a deeply caring and helpful mother and grandmother. She is a dedicated friend and is always helping those around her. She loves cooking and made a career of it for 40 years, most recently retiring from being a sous chef at UC Davis for 24 years. During the last year, Maria had begun catering and working on a taco truck, continuing with her love of cooking. 

While preparing for work on Tuesday, June 12th, my mom was in a terrible accident when a gas explosion occurred with the deep fryer on the taco truck. The accident left her with 3rd degree burns on 9% of her body, mainly her arms and face. She is currently in the hospital recovering and is projected to stay there for the coming weeks. 

We have started a GoFundMe page in order to assist her through her recovery, with medical expenses, bills, and the lengthy rehabilitation that she is facing, during which she will be unable to work to support herself.

Mi mama Maria, es una madre y abuela profundamente atenta y servicial. Siempre ayudando a quienes la rodean.  Le encanta cocinar y hizo una carrera de eso durante 40 anos, recientemente retirandose de Sous Chef en UC Davis despues de 24 anos. Durante el ano pasado, Maria habia comenzado a atender y trabajar en un camion de tacos, continuando con su amor por la cocina.

El Martes 12 de Junio, mi madre sufrio un terrible accidente cuando se produjo una explosion de gas con la freidora en el camion de tacos. El accidente la dejo con quemaduras de tercer grado en 9% de su cuerpo, principalmente los brazos y la cara. Actualmente se encuetra recuperandose en el hospital y se espera que permanezca alli durante las proximas semanas. 

Hemos comenzado una pagina de GoFundMe para ayudarla en su recuperacion con los gastos medicos, facturas, y la larga rehabilitacion que enfrenta, durante la cual no podra trabajar para mantenerse sola.
