Hyrum L. Zerkle was test driving his custom built Hardcore Chopper when a young woman “T-Boned” him crushing both the tibia and the fibula of his right leg leaving that leg 3 ½ inches shorter than his left leg because of all the damage and lost bone fragments.
Hyrum and his young family are now facing 7-8 major surgeries over the next 10-12 months to repair the physical damage that was done to his body, not to mention the emotional stress caused by this accident.
The medical bills will just keep mounting and the everyday cost of living will continue, along with travel expenses back and forth to the Orthopedic Trauma Hospital. Not to mention the repair work that will need to be done on the bike in order to sell it to help cover these expenses.
We are asking for help to relieve some of the financial burdens that this will be place on the Zerkle family, any amount will be greatly appreciated. Hyrum will not be able to work and provide for his family for more than a year, and his wife will lose time and wages from her part time job in order to take him back and forth to appointments and continue to care for him and their small son.
