House Fire
Donation protected
Saturday December 9th I got a frantic call from my brother John. I will never forget the anguish in his voice when he said "DAVE'S HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!" It took a moment for that to register in my brain. Did I hear that correctly?
Wait...What?
"His house is on FIRE!! The trucks are on the way!" Ok..Ok.. I say to my brother John. I am on the way. Is Dave out? Is he OK?! I knew Denise and the kids were not home. Dave was ok. That is what mattered. Dave lives close to me down the Ottawa road. They just bought this home recently. Their dream home. I saw a fire truck on my way. As I rounded the bend I could see the flames in the distance. It shook me to the core. It was a HUGE fire. My nephew in St. Peter could see the fire from his house. When I arrived there were fire trucks from Kasota, Le Sueur, Cleveland, Le Center and St. Peter.
Sadly the family dog and two cats did not make it out. Dave and Denise lost everything except the clothes on their backs. But they are alive and they have their children.
I started this page because people are asking how and where to donate. This is a start.
Thank you. Thank you for your compassion. Thank you to the fire departments who responded. You all amazed me with your teamwork.
Thank you to anyone who cares to help.
Sincere thanks,
Dave and Denise's Family
