Elizabeth's Medical Fund

$65 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 3 people in 6 months
My name is Paul Duarte.  I live in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.  My wife is Lucy. Elizabeth's sister.

Recently, Elizabeth who lives in the Phillippines had a minor stroke which landed her a 3 day stay in the hospital.  After that short stay, she went home only to find out, that her husband had passed away from a heart attack while she was in the hospital.
Elizabeth with the bereavement, had another stroke; a major one this time.  She was in a coma for several days (almost 2 weeks), and is still in the hospital due for release soon.
However even though she has lost mobility to her left side, come hell or high water she will be realeased without medical supervision if the bill is not paid.

Elizabeth does not have any money. And now without her husband, even worse.  Her medical bills have started coming in and are mounting.  They do not have top notch, free healthcare in the Phillippines that we have here in Canada.

Lucy has been at her sister's side the whole time, Elizabeth has been hospitalized and is dedicated to staying with her to care for her.
Sleeping in the waiting room chairs and eating cafeteria food.

In addition to the medical bills, therapy will be needed.
So, I am appealing to the public to help me raise money for Lucy's sister's medical bills and following therapy, as well as the funeral costs for Elizabeth's husband.

People don't have money I know, I get it, but everybody has a $1.
If a thousand people donated just $1. The person dying in a hospital, because of lack of funds, would have $1000.
Think about that for a moment, before you blow it off as someone else's problem. What if it was your brother, sister, mother, father or friend.

Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated.  We thank you in advance for your compassion, kindness and generosity.

Elizabeth is stable but needs a wheelchair. She is paralyzed on the right side of her body. Won't you find it in your heart to help her get one? Even $1 is a big help.

Elizabeth is now home. We thank you Karen for making that happen with your contribution.
Elizabeth is conscious, but bed ridden with no medical assistance what-so-ever.
We are going to keep the campaign going because, she is still being fed through a bag and urinating into a bag and soiling on diapers as well.
In the Philippines, those supplies are more than anyone can afford. They might just as well be made of gold.

Even though Elizabeth has regained consciousness and is ready to go home under medical supervision; which she can only get from her sister Lucy, due to lack of funds. She is being held hostage at the hospital until the bill is paid. To ad pain to injury, the longer she is in the hospital, the bigger the bill. I have tried to help as much as my capabilities, outside of this campaign. But I am only one man, with medical issues myself. Can't you please find it somewhere in you to donate even if it is just a table scrap of one dollar. Any amount is a blessing in Elizabeth's life right now. Thank you!
