Sally was diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment and Primary Progressive Aphasia a couple of years ago. Her cognition has changed and she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease since August 2015.
Her care requirements have increased and she now requires caregivers with her 24/7. She has four wonderful caregivers assisting her around the clock. Melanie and her 8 year old son, Shepard live with her now, Granddaughter Sarah and Nikki who assist during day and Manoshi and Tiffany during the evening hours.
Sally requires supervision with all activities and some physical assistance due to her cognition and to be safe with her rolling walker as she often forgets to use it. She has had a couple of falls this past year, but thankfully without injury.
She is still a joy to be around and makes a valiant effort to be present when she is with company, but she now tires easily.
Sally would like to stay at home for as long as possible. Medicare/Medicaid does not cover in home care at all. Her caregiving expenses are $4,000 - $6,000 per month. We appreciate any contributions you can make for Sally's care to keep her in her home.
