Ever since I was in 7th grade and won a race during a middle school competition, I knew I had found my “gift” - the thing that fulfilled me and would serve as the core of the person I have become. My goal is to take that gift to its pinnacle and compete in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016.
Throughout my career I have been blessed with many achievements including being ranked in the World for the 200M (2011) and 100M (2012), as well as a 200M Semi-Finalist for the World Championship/Olympic Trials in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 for Jamaica. However, I missed the opportunity to compete in past Olympic Games due to the lack of resources needed to maintain the physical demands of an Olympic level athlete and the costs associated with competing in events. The 2016 Games are my best chance to compete and I can’t let a lack of funding get in the way of achieving my goals.
Maintaining top mental and physical form helps me to win races, and winning races gets me to Rio. However, all of that takes resources to cover medical expenses, training/conditioning, health supplements and accommodations during pivotal events across the country. Your support will help fund some of the costs associated with keeping me in peak form and competing in the top qualifying events.
