QD Team Fire Recovery Assistance

On Thursday, November 8, at 6:33 a.m. PST a small fire was spotted near Camp Creek Road in Butte County, California, near the town of Paradise. Fueled by dry vegetation and 50 MPH winds, in 14 hours it consumed 20,000 acres. It moved so quickly the town couldn't be evacuated fast enough. Cars were overtaken and people fled on foot. Dozens died in their homes, outside their homes, and in their cars.
To date the fire has burned 135,000 acres, destroyed nearly 8,000 homes, and displaced more than 25,000 people.
Four of Quality Digest's team live in and around Paradise. They all got out safely. Their stories are truly horrifying and gut wrenching.
Two lost their homes, and two were spared, although it may be a while before they can return. Including wives and children, the fire impacted 10 of our team.
The good news is they're safe. They have jobs. They have temporary housing. Some have insurance. But insurance doesn't cover everything, and in the coming months there will be moving expenses and other expenses.
As Quality Digest's Editor in Chief, I have established this fund to help get additional support to help our team get back on its feet. Quality Digest is providing its own support in various ways but we know that others have asked how they can help as well. This gofundme will be a fund that we can dispense from as needed to help our team—our QD family—get back on their feet. We are estimating about $10,000 to cover expenses above and beyond what Quality Digest is covering. As team expenses arise we will pay them from this account.
Once everyone is settled and back on track, any leftover money will be given to one of the local aide agencies in the area that are specifically helping survivors of the Camp Fire.
Our crew appreciates any amount you want to contribute .
Thanks
