So, here's the deal:

I have been struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder since the age of 13. I am now 33. In the last twenty years I have had many jobs of many different kinds - for some time I worked for a living and paid taxes like most people. This was in spite of frequent panic attacks, severe social anxiety and the frequent bouts of clinical depression (it is something I struggle with several times a year). I have been hospitalized, I have spent time in crisis units as well. As a younger man and boy I spent a great many hours in therapy and am in therapy now. I am not crazy, lazy, or stupid - but I do have significant issues.

A couple of years ago, something happened to my back. I'm not entirely sure what, only that there was pain in the upper mid section that gradually worsened. I have pulled it out doing simple things like tying my shoes, which left me crippled up in pain for days. I am in the process of having lab tests to determine what the heck is wrong with it - for two years I have been unable to get the necessary medical treatment due to a lack of health insurance.

I recently had to go to the ER for intense chest pain. I believed I was having a heart attack but it turned out to be GERD, which, for those unfamiliar, is a form of acid reflux. Some nights I can't lie down, but have to fall asleep half sitting.  This requires me to change my diet and life-style, which is costly.

After a decade, I finally have health insurance again. It is MaineCare (my state's version of medicaid) so it covers a great deal of medical expenses. Unfortunately, it buys neither food nor clothing, it doesn't cover gas to get to medical appointments, or pay bills, whether rent, electricity, or what have you.

I am living at my parents house (alone) for the time being - and having a roof over my head is great, so is having access to the internet so I can do this. I don't think I will starve or end up homeless or dead (though as to the latter, who knows when your ticket is going to be punched?) but I am stuck in a position of needing some extra funds to move forward in life.

I have applied for supplemental security - and will soon be applying for food stamps and section 8 housing as well. I don't know if I will receive any of them, but I am hopeful. In the meantime, I have a car in need of repairs - it would help a great deal to have a functioning, safe vehicle. I am also, in the long-term, hoping to buy a cheap camper or RV that will get me to some place warmer for the winter - as the short days and cold nights tend to really effect my condition.

What I can promise in return for your assistance is that I will spend your money wisely - and that when I am able, I will pay it forward. I am working on building an online business and earning income that way, but my health currently keeps me from doing as much as I would like.

I could really use some help to get through the next few months, or even years, depending on what happens in my near future. Anyone who is willing to help, either through funding or through sharing this page on social media, has my deepest gratitude. I do not intend to remain in this position or in this condition. I am exercising daily, changing my diet to be much healthier, attending weekly therapy - and taking advantage of all of the medical services I can.

Eventually, I do plan to rejoin the work force.

Just, in the meantime, I am kind of stuck in the middle of no where without any funds. Thank you for taking the time to read this.  Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.
