The Mead family has touched so many of our lives through their selfless commitment to thier faith, friends and community. On March 9th, Matthew Mead was in a car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. The accident happened outside of Hillboro and he was careflighted to Hillcrest Trama Center in Waco. So many people are praying for Matthew and the Mead family and the power of prayer is being felt by his parents Brad and Kara, and by Reagan and Raney his brother and sister.

Isiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with  you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will stregthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Matthew Mead Update from Brad- “It is with great sadness and a bigger relief that I let you know that Matthew passed away early this morning. I will give you a better update later. He has passed this life to take his place in our Lords Kingdom.
May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon him.
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..”

Thanks to every person that supported the family with their donations and prayers. Because of you Matthew was able to spend the last year of his life at home with his family. May God bless you and your family today and always.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Matthew has had a few rough weeks due to a blood infection, a lung infection and a bed sore but after surgery he is on the mend. Kara says he is off the vent and is down from 5 antibiotics to 2. She says he is sitting in a chair with assistance and is moving his arms and giving her thumbs up. They hope to bring him home when he is ready. Through generous donations they have a bed, a new bathroom and a wheel chair. Their need now is a handicap van which are very expensive. We are having a 5k run on December 10th in Cleburne to help raise money for it. If you are interested in running, buying a shirt or donating you can go to http://www.racedayeventservices.com/
All are welcome to come out that day just to show support and rally around the family.
Also, some of Matthew's sweet friends have created a video about his story. You can click on this link to see it.

As always thank you all so much for the love and prayers you have sent to the Meads. They feel every prayer. Our verse for the 5k and for the Meads in general is Hebrews 12:1 "Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us." Love to you all.

Update on Matthew Mead from Brad. I haven't given an update to you all lately and for that I apologize. I have been quite busy these last few weeks. I will make a better effort to get updates out to you all. Matthew has kind of been in limbo lately. He had developed a terrible bedsore on his back. It's scary how fast something like that can develop because Matthew has constant care and Kara is there always seeing to his care as well. Even with that, things like a bedsore can still happen. Healing this has been the number one priority. It is healing but it takes time. While this has been going on, Matthew's therapy has been scaled back. He still gets therapy but not like he did before. Matthew still has casts on his legs from his surgery. This week he is to be fitted for braces. Once the casts come off, he will wear the braces. Raney and I went to see Kara and Matthew last weekend. Matthew was bright eyed and looked really good.
We continue to receive blessings from the Lord each and every day. Those blessings come through the support and love we receive from so many of you daily. I am constantly stopped around town and told by someone that they are praying for Matthew and for our family. Sometimes I am told that by someone that may not even know us but they have heard about Matthew and they pray for us. Those prayers and blessings continue to work each and everyday. There is no doubt in my mind that the Lord is watching over Matthew and us as well. His love for you and I is endless and bigger than we could ever imagine.
Please continue to love one another in the name of the Lord. Hug your kids whenever you can!

Praise be to God!!!

PRAYER TO
SAINT MICHAEL
THE ARCHANGEL
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..

In 1978 my brother Kirk was involved in a motorcycle accident and also suffered a severe brain injury. He had 2 blood clot removal surgeries, was in a coma for 3 weeks and then had a long recovery. His life today is filled with joy and happiness. He works full time and is functioning well with very little assistance. He has lived on his own for the past 25 years and is a A- tennis player
