Julie Mankin Medical Expenses
Thought this update was the quickest way to say thank you. I'm still making payments to the Corsicana firefighters who saved me (it seems a little ironic that insurance didn't cover "pick up from the scene"), and I can't express, even today, how much every dollar in this fund continues to do for me.
To give you an idea... my first health insurance company was billed for $1.4 million, BEFORE I started six months of rehab.
I was responsible. I had insurance. But my astounding recovery is mostly due to a handful of healthcare providers who didn't do insurance. I paid them out-of-pocket. That's the care that God's grace brought to me and which allows me to function so fully.
I lived on your dollars during rehab, and spent them on those heaven-sent healers that summer, except for a few thousand bucks my little sis recommended we save for me on purpose as I started working. I'm so glad it's there right now. Just knowing it's there has helped ease the financial stress of being single, on my own. That stress is the weak link that brings my symptoms back.
It hasn't been easy, losing my job last spring while handling those old bills and paying up to $1,000 each month for the supplements that give me the energy to get out of bed and the cognition to drive to work without getting lost. Your fund saved me again when I was laid off in April and worried about how I would make it through.
Your dollars are still helping me every day in spirit. I wish I knew the name of each anonymous donor, but I'm overwhelmed by every friend and every relative who contributed anything. You are my blessings. You all are heroes. Thank you, thank you.
I want to give a huge shout out to RFDTV for being a people oriented, classy, and good on their word company. They held the job for Julie and have been remarkable through this experience. If you don't already subscribe, you should!
Also, thank you to my sister Mandy for opening her home up and being an amazingly supportive sister to Julie the last 5 months. I know that Mandy will miss her terribly, but is excited for her to embark on this great opportunity.
Please continue to pray for Julie as this new experience is exciting, however, it will also be difficult at times. Please pray that she will continue with the amazing attitude that she has.
Again, Thank you all for your support! There is no way we will ever be able to thank you enough or help you realize how important your donations were. Without them this experience would have seemed impossible! Julie you are an inspiration to all and keep it up! God bless you all!
"Back at the home ranch for a visit. Being horseback again... hanging with bunches of big buck mule deer. God is good." ……….Julie's most recent post on her Facebook page along with the picture.
Yah! It was so amazing to see her beautiful smile! She hasn't been home in a year! She spent some quality time with family and friends. More importantly, she spent a whole lot of time with her horse, Banjo. It was the first time she has been able to see him since the accident and horses are just good for the soul.
Julie is totally rocking the short hair do and looks amazing. She seems to have taken her life back over, which includes her own bills. What a daunting task that is when it comes to the medical field!!! So glad she is up for it. Her weeks continue to be filled with doctor visits, therapy, and staying on top of getting enough sleep. Medical bills, unexpected (uncovered costs)things, fuel to Craig's, etc. can take a toll on anyone's finances. Without working Julie has no income. Thank you all so much for your generosity!
May God Bless you all!!
I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY IT!
We continue to appreciate any donations as Julie is still engulfed in rehab and is unable to work. Thanks for everything and praise be to GOD!

I've not met you but I'd like to say you are in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Look forward to some day meeting you maybe at the CFD.
I've been following in shock all this information here in Brazil about Julie. Sometimes I can not believe that the smiling girl I met during The American in Arlington this can in this situation. Keep praying and watching everything, God is greater than all and she will smile again soon. Thanks for letting us know.
Julie, praying for a speedy recovery and so happy to hear of your progress! We are so glad to see your progress! Becky and Vicki Christensen - "Shes Gone Country with Becky"
