VESA Volunteering Program

Donation protected

An opportunity has arisen for me to go to South Africa and Swaziland to volunteer with VESA this summer. Volunteer Eco Students Abroad is an organisation which aims to take volunteers to regions of the world where social and environmental risks faced by communities have not yet been addressed.  During this trip, I will be constructing homes for families in dire need, constructing and renovating facilities where children live and learn, as well as teaching children. Most importantly for my future career, I will be working with the KZN-Ezemvelo Wildlife Authority with their conservation efforts with various crocodile species and their Cheetah Project, which involves the conservation of cheetahs,  servals,  caracals, and African wildcats.  Not only will I make a difference on this trip, but it will provide me with experience and connections to begin my career as a zoologist focusing on conservation, where I aim to make a large difference by helping at-risk species in various regions in the world recover their populations and live safely in their natural habitats free from the detrimental consequences of human activity.

Thanks!
