Wildlife Rescue

Tax deductible
The Rowena Wildlife Clinic was founded in 2000 by Dr. Jean Cypher and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  It has treated thousands of animals since, including raptors and other birds, and various mammals, etc.  The Clinic needs continuous support to treat, feed and rehabilitate these wild animals.    Please visit their website: Rowenawildlifeclinic.org.

Rowena wildlife treats about 200 wild animals each year. Almost all of our patients are admitted with leg, wing, or even shell fractures. Healing takes time, so the animals need to stay in captivity for several months or a year before they are ready for release. Healing also takes good nutrition, so one of our biggest expenses is for food.

We spend up to $14,000 annually on food, including up to $2000 (about 700 frozen rodents) for eagles, up to $8000 for other raptors and carnivores,  $700 (200,000 mealworms) for insectivorous songbirds, bats, and other animals and up to $1200 on goat milk for injured fawns.

We also spend up to $1000 during the harsher winters on supplemental feeding of birds and mammals living near the clinic.
