A couple of nights ago, with the strong winds from the Hurricane Ophelia, the fires started up again in Central Portugal. I felt helpless as I stood hundreds of miles away and could do nothing to help friends in the area as the news started to arrive that the fires had begun to converge on our beautiful village called ‘Benfeita’.
Our friends fought the fire at the front line, back burning where they could and never stopping.
Hopefully the worst is over, and luckily no one was hurt but they have been left with no power, no running water, no phones and no internet, basic things that we all take for granted. Some of them have lost everything, others have lost some……nobody has been left unaffected. The fires have consumed everything in their path.
This page is to raise money for my friends in Benfeita and Pardierios who have been left with absolutely nothing because of the fires. Your help would go towards helping these people start rebuilding their lives. Please give as little or as much as you can. I’ll update this page as I get more information. Thank you!
Na madrugada de domingo para segunda, devido aos forte ventos do Furacão Ophelia, o centro de Portugal voltou a arder novamente. Dessa vez as chamas tomaram conta da nossa linda vila de "Benfeita".
Muitos moradores lutaram com todas as forças para dissipar o fogo que vinha de duas frentes consumindo tudo pelo seu caminho. Felizmente nao houve fatalidade e ninguém se feriu, mas todos foram afetados de alguma forma, alguns estão sem energia eletrica, água
corrente ou potável e outras necessidades básicas e muitos perderam tudo.
Esta página foi criada para ajudar os moradores de "Benfeita" e "Pardieiros" que perderam tudo. O valor arrecadado irá auxilia-los a reconstruir as suas vidas. Esta página será atualizada quando eu obtiver mais informações. Muito obrigado.
