Our Story

We are ZwarteAarde Brewers, a startup home-based craft brewery currently located in Wiesbaden, Germany. ZwarteAarde Brewers will carefully craft world-class ales, stouts, and Belgian inspired beers that cultivate a sense of community and a love for brewing that brings people together. We will brew exclusive beers in small batches for private events, to share among friends, and to form the foundation of a European inspired brewery that we will bring back to the United States. With your help, not only will we be able to brew more refined beers with an expanded range of styles, but we will also be able to focus on spreading our love of brewing by sharing our knowledge with you!


I was first introduced to the world of craft beer in Belgium by a few close friends back in 2011. Over the following four years I, and fellow brewers Mark and Rob, have been extremely privileged to be able to pick the brains of some of the best Belgian and Dutch brewers in the world. Not only have they shown us that brewing is a science, but that it is also a very unique form of art. It is from these men that we have drawn our inspiration to set off on the road to brewing truly sophisticated and distinctive craft beer.



Rob, Mark, and I began brewing together in 2014 in Wiesbaden, Germany, our temporary but collective home. It only took a few brews to know that this was something that we genuinely loved. We began researching, purchasing gear, brewing, and learning as much as we could about the industry, and we have produced some exceptional beers. Unfortunately, we currently only have the space and equipment to brew limited quantities. We are dedicated to perfecting our methods and recipe base prior to moving back to the United States in 2017. We have personally invested our own time and money to bring us this far, and now we're asking for your help to take it to the next level.



What is the Next Step?

Our long-term goals are to create a microbrewery that consistently produces quality beers of all styles, and to provide the opportunity for those who may be interested in brewing to give it a try before they invest in the necessary equipment. Potential customers will be able to choose a perfected recipe from our own list, or they will have the option of developing their own recipe, based on a particular style. We will work with the customer from grain and yeast selection, all the way to bottling their first craft brewed beer. By supporting our effort you will enable us to hit the ground running in 2017, with a tried and true recipe base and perfected techniques that have been developed with the guidance of some of the best brewers in the world.

In order to develop our operation we need to raise $5,000 or more, which will allow us to begin to focus on expansion, improvement, and holding schoolhouse style brewing sessions. We’re incredibly grateful for any amount contributed toward funding our project, and truly hope that you can help us fulfill a dream. The success of this campaign would mean the difference between requiring a few months or a few years to realize our goal of having a full brewing operation by June 2017. We can’t do this without you!

This GoFundMe campaign is a launch-pad for the development of our brewery. By funding our project, you will be providing everything we need to refine our process and spread our passion for excellent beer.


Where The Funds Will Go:

All of the funds donated will go towards a new, RIMS (Recirculating Infusion Mash System) brewing setup that will not only allow us precise control over brewing techniques, but it will also provide a perfect platform for instructional sessions. With this essential upgrade, we will begin to realize our dream.
