Putt Putt Acres Fire

On Monday evening, Jerry & Christine Loehrke suffered a devastating loss. Their barns caught fire and burned to the ground. It happened in a matter of minutes. Their home was spared, thanks to the quick arrival of the West Bloomfield Fire Department. Sadly however, their barns and equipment were destroyed. Much of their hay was destroyed as well. No cattle were lost and no one was injured. We couldn't be more grateful for that. 10 departments arrived to help battle the blaze, while the family, neighbors and friends stood by, watching, unable to do anything else. I've started this campaign for them to help offset the costs of rebuilding and getting them back on their feet. Jerry & Chris are 2 of the most amazing people I've ever had the opportunity to meet. 4 years ago, when I first met them, they welcomed me and my kids with open arms into their family. They love their family, they love their friends and they love their farm. They are always there to help anyone who may need it, no matter what the situation. They are truly amazing people. I'm hoping as a community, we can show them the same love and support now that they need it. They do have insurance. However, cleanup costs, the cost of rebuilding 2 barns, repairing surrounding buildings, the cost of the fire departments, replacing tractors, hay and tools that are all critical to the day to day operations of the farm, is going to outweigh the insurance funds. I am asking everyone, to please chip in what you can afford so we can help them get back on their feet, and keep them operating. Even if it just a few dollars, it would mean more than you can ever imagine. I thank you for taking the time to read this, and making a donation. I will update as progress is made.
