Preventing Sexual Abuse in Church

Many women have come forward regarding sexual abuse and gender discrimination they’ve experienced in churches. We are trying to raise funds to cover the costs of an event we held to raise awareness of the issue and start a conversation on how to make the Church a safer space for all to worship, fellowship, and serve through better teaching and clearer policy on sexuality and gender.

The event, "After Purity: Faith and Sexuality Beyond the Boundaries," took place at 7pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Hiram College Kennedy Center Ballroom--and it was free for all who attended.

Any amount we raise in excess of what we need will be donated to our local Rape Crisis Center.

We'll also be carrying on the conversation through a four-part study in May 2018:

-- May 8 - ChurchToo: Sexual Assault and Harassment in the Christian Church
-- May 15 - Patriarchy and Gender Roles
-- May 22 - Purity Culture and Sexuality
