Pumpkin the one-eyed skunk!

Last Wednesday I noticed some slight swelling in Pumpkin’s right eye, and made her a vet appointment for Friday afternoon. By early Friday morning her eye had swelled so severely that I had to rush her to the emergency vet. Once there they measured the pressure in her eye and unfortunately diagnosed her with glaucoma. Over the course of the next 5 days we made 6 trips to the emergency vet and her regular vet as they worked together to try and relieve the pressure. Yesterday morning she became so lethargic that she couldn’t move, eat or drink. By this morning there were no improvements so we went back to the vet and they determined the only option left was to remove the eye altogether and hope for the best. Pumpkin is slowly recovering at the vet and will hopefully be home in the next day or two. Unfortunately, the 7 trips to the vet and cost of surgery has amounted to much more than I’m able to afford right now. If you are able to donate I would appreciate it more than anything, regardless, I’m asking you to keep my sweet newly one eyed, pirate cat Pumpkin in your thoughts.
