Puerto Rico Effort 2 SERVE
‘PRESERVE’
Georgiennette is the Hispanic pastor at the Church we attend. She leads a Spanish speaking service on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Georgiennette is from Puerto Rico and has family that lives in Puerto Rico. Her parents are older and her dad is diabetic. Her mom has medication(s) which should be refrigerated. Georgiennette’s parents as well as the community they live in have many immediate needs due to Hurricane Maria. We are working to assist her parents and family as well as the community they live in.
At present, Georgiennette hopes to make a trip to Puerto Rico to try to take some needed items (like canned meats, mosquito repellants & nets, batteries, flashlights) and a generator to her parents and others. We are raising money for her airplane ticket, as well as, for a generator for her parents. We also plan to collect items such as those listed above for her to take with her on the plane.
Also, we hope to learn more about the urgent needs from what Georgiennette discovers on her trip to Puerto Rico. If our plans are successful we intend to send more items to Puerto Rico as we determine the best ways to accomplish our efforts to best serve those in need in Puerto Rico.
In lieu of or in addition to giving financial assistance through this GoFundMe, you may drop off items to be donated at the First Methodist Church, 4405 Main Street, Rowlett, Texas, Monday-Thursdays 9am-4pm.
