HCPSS/BOE Release Public Records

Howard County Public Schools paid a contractor $300,000 in taxpayer money to audit their Special Education services.  The school system chose this contractor because of their "collaboration".  When the public asked to see the reports, we were told they did not exist.  I was told the parent satisfaction surveys were owned by the contractor. 

Without a lawyer, I filed a Circuit Court complaint against the Board of Education to compel them to release these public records.  Their response to my discovery requests was to give me the survey data and a 34 page preliminary report with pages 8 - 34 completely redacted.  They still claim there was no final report.

As a result, I have hired a lawyer to help me in court to get these public records.  If I win my case, I will be able to recover my court fees.  However, there is never a  guaranteed win.  If you donate to help pay for my legal fees and I eventually win, I will donate the money to Camp Attaway, a three-week summer day camp program in Howard County, Maryland for children with emotional and behavioral disorders.  http://campattaway.org/
