To all of our friends and family....
Melissa unexpectedly collapsed while at work on March 26th 2018. Her heart stopped beating for an unknown amount of time. She was found down by a coworker. 911 was called and an early responder applied an AED that delivered the shock to get her heart back into rythm. She was then intubated and rushed to St. Cloud Hospital via ambulance.
We have gone through multiple tests and are still unsure exactly what caused this to happen. It appears it is cardiac related but we still do not know for sure 100%. We are still awaiting more results at this time. Things are very serious. We have been by her bedside constantly since this happened and eagerly await any updates on her status that we are provided. She is currently sedated in the Cardiac Care Unit. They are cooling her body to try and prevent any neurological damage. They will begin re-warming her body tonight and then stop her sedation around 7am on March 28th and being trying to wake her up after that
She will likely be spending many more days in the CCU but we do not know at this time how long that will be. We are of course hoping for the best and fastest recovery possible but it is all unknown at this point.
Anything you give will go to help John and our families cover any fraction the medical costs that are going to add up over time. Anything that can be given is appreciated beyond what our words can express.
