Confused World of Modern Atheism

My name is Moshe Averick, As a Rabbi and educator for well over 30 years, I have spent countless hours with thousands of students of all ages teaching, discussing, arguing, and debating theology and spirituality.

My book, Nonsense of a High Order: The Confused World of Modern Atheism (a comprehensively revised edition of an earlier publication), emerged from these decades of intense discussion and profound contemplation. In it, I present the rational, truth seeker's case for the existence of God.

The knowledge of the existence of God is the foundation upon which all true wisdom and true moral principles rest. Please help me make this book available to a wide audience. Become my partner in strengthening belief and committment to God and Godly principles. I am deeply grateful for any help you can offer.

To  publish the hardcover edition of this book which will be distributed in book stores (through FELDHEIM Publishers, NY), I need $4500 for printing costs and $10,500 for advertising and PR, without which this important message may never reach the public audience it deserves. The book is ready to go to press. The crucial missing component: the funds to publish.

Atheists such as Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Victor Stenger, et al, have clearly thrown down the gauntlet to those who believe in God. My book was written to illustrate my unflinching assertion that in fact, it is the theist who wields the decisive advantage on the intellectual battlefield. We are not talking about leaps of faith, we are talking about rational, scientific thinking.

A small sampling of the critical issues discussed in the book:
-The abject failure of atheistic scientists to discover a  naturalistic scenario for the Origin of Life
-"Scientists don't have a clue how life began."- (John Horgan, senior writer, Scientific American)
-"In short there is not a shred of objective evidence that life began in an organic soup here on Earth." -(Sir Fred Hoyle, British astronomer, physicist, mathematician)
-"From my earliest training as a scientist I was very strongly brainwashed to believe that science cannot be consistent with any kind of deliberate creation. That notion has had to be very painfully shed...there is no logical way out of it. It is just not possible that life could have originated from a chemical accident." - (Chandra Wickramasinghe, mathematician, astronomer, astrobiologist)

-The abject failure of science to discover a materialistic explanation of consciousness and self-awareness
-"Nobody has the slightest idea how anything material could be conscious. Nobody even knows what it would be like to have the slightest idea how anything material could be conscious" - (Dr. Jerry Fodor, professor of philosophy and cognitive scientist, Rutgers University)
-"Science's biggest mystery is the nature of consciousness. It is not that we possess bad or imperfect theories of human awareness; we simply have no such theories at all." - Dr. Nick Herbert, Physicist

-The Amoral chaos of an atheistic universe
-"I have been laboring under an unexamined assumption, namely, that there is such thing as right or wrong. I now believe there isn't...the religious fundamentalists are correct; without God there is no morality...the long and short of it is...atheism implies amorality; and since I am an atheist, I must therefore embrace amorality." - (Dr. Joel Marks, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy, University of New Haven)
-"I don't have intrinsic moral taboos. My view is not that anything is just wrong." - (Dr. Peter Singer, Professor of "Ethics", Princeton University)
-"The moment a man questions the meaning and value of life he is sick, since objectively neither has any existence." (Sigmund Freud)

This is what they are saying about Nosense of a High Order: The Confused World of Modern Atheism:

-Melanie Phillips, British Journalist and best-selling author: "With remorseless logic and a blistering prose style he shows that it is those without faith that believe a dozen impossible things before breakfast...this book is profound and laugh out loud funny."

-Rabbi Aharon Feldman, Dean of the Ner Israel Rabbinical Seminary, Baltimore: "An important book that pulls the rug out from under atheistic philosphies and will strengthen every readers belief in the Creator."

-Rabbi Michel Twerski, Congregation Beth Yehuda,  Milwaukee, Wisconsin:
"An uncommonly literate, trenchant, and entertaining volume. Rabbi Averick has done a stellar job researching the field…it is difficult not to be amused by what happens to these implausible arguments under Averick’s penetrating scrutiny and excoriating analysis...it is by far one of the best things I have read in a very long time."

-Dr. Edward Peltzer, Senior Research Specialist, Ocean Chemistry, California: "A compelling read...in his section on the Origin of LIfe, Rabbi Averick has dramatically spiked the ball back into the court of the non-believer"

-Michael and Diane Medved (Talk-radio hosts and best-selling authors) : "Very persuasive, often amusing, and rich in ready-to-rumble argument and insight" - "If you have ever felt bullied by schoolyard atheists like Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens, I have some good news...your big brother, in the person of Rabbi Moshe Averick, has just stepped onto the playground!"

-Dr. Richard Weikart, Professor of History, California State U., Stanislaus, author of "Hitler's Ethic: The Nazi Pursuit of Evolutionary Progress": "Rabbi Averick turns the tables on atheists by exposing the irrational nature of their reasoning...he effectively dismantles the atheist assertion that science can provide satisfactory materialistic answers."

A Final Word:
One of the most gratifying moments of my educational career was when a student told me at the end of the course, "Rabbi, I don't agree with everything you have taught over the course of the year, but you have made me into a thinking person." To enable someone to become a thinking person - that is what I consider to be true success as an educator! Please help open minds and hearts to the reality of God's existence. Whatever help you can offer is deeply appreciated

Thank You,  Moshe Averick
