Protectors Heading to Standing Rock

My name is Calina Lawrence, I am 23 years old and a member of the Suquamish Tribe located on the Port Madison Indian Tribe of the Treaty of Point Elliot 1855.
I currently reside in Oakland, CA and attend the University of San Francisco! I will be graduating this December with a BA in Performing Arts & Social Justice- concentration in Music.
As a full-time student- it has been difficult making an honest choice not to drop out of school (a month before graduation) because of the severe importance of the protection that is happening in Standing Rock and the call to be there. I have done what I can in solidarity from afar and I have decided to stay in school for a couple more months to finish my degree - all while trusting that creation and the universe would present a way for me to get to Stannding Rock whenever it would be my time.
Well loved ones, the time HAS presented itself and I will be able to travel with a group of about 20 other prayer warriors from the Bay Area - November 19th-27th. All of my professors are supportive of my decision and my loved ones back home in Suquamish have also been understanding of me spending my Thanks(taken) break in Standing Rock instead of heading home to visit.
I am grateful to my Bay Area friends for keeping a spot open for me in their caravan and because of this, I would like to raise some money to contribute to travel expenses and also to bring supplies needed/financial donations to the protectors who have been holding it down over the past several months.
It is never an easy thing to ask for money but I am humbly asking that you sponsor myself and our Bay Area crew as we prepare ourselves to travel and offer the most that we can with our hands, bodies, voices, minds, emotions, and spirits in the short time that we can spend there.
With my heart at the forefront, I thank you for you support and for all of the ways that you have empowered this movemevent for the preservation of our sacred Mother Earth and the elements that are crucial to human life.
