Consider your morning routine-- waking up in the comfort of your own home and your own bed, making yourself a meal without thinking twice about it, brushing your teeth with clean water, and getting in your car, or on the train and going to work.

These are things that we as privileged human beings take for granted. We don't have to worry about the possibility of not knowing where our next meal comes from, we have the resource of clean water at our fingertips, and more than anything, we can go to sleep each night without the realistic fear of not waking up.

In Syria, 13.5 million people need humanitarian assistance due to the Syrian Civil War. About 4.8 million of these Syrians are refugees, and nearly half of these refugees are children. Children affected by the Syrian Civil War are at risk of becoming ill, malnourished, abused, or exploited; and most of them are forced to quit school and work to support their families, with very poor working conditions often for very little pay. The traumas of war permanently disfigure many families and uproot them from their normalities.

The humanitarian crisis in Syria is an issue that concerns not only Syrians who are struggling immensely, but one that concerns us. Together we can make a difference. If we all come together as one, we can aid the suffering. Relief United is a group co-founded by teenagers from all over Westchester. Our plan is to host a self-funded Spring Festival on April 28, 2017. This event will consist of live entertainment from Special Guests, local bands, guest speakers, and catered food. We will raise money through several fundraising events, tickets for the event, and in-event purchases. Our venue is at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow.  Although we are aiming to fund the event mostly by ourselves, it's imperative you help too! We are partnering with CNEWA as a sub charity whom all of our proceeds will go to. CNEWA is doing amazing work overseas, and will send a guest speaker to talk with us at our event! Help us to send relief as a united force.
