Dear Project Houston Donors and Volunteers,
Thank you for your generous donations and volunteerism in support of Project HoUSton. By supporting our work, you are helping to empower hundreds of families in need of relief items. On Sept 2 and 3, your investment helped us to fill five U-Haul trucks to capacity—a true testament selflessness. We were fortunate to document the incredible outpour of support and have included links to photos and a recap video from both days. We encourage you to share them on your social media platforms.

Project HoUSton has now went viral! We could not have anticipated such a large, loving response to our Call to Action, but are grateful to each of you. People are continuing to reach out with inquiries on how to donate. We want to continue responding to the giving hearts of local San Diegans and beyond, but we need help. As we coordinate with our Houston committee, we have found that identifying and distributing to the families most in need is actually the easy part. However, we are still exploring options for transporting items there.
As you know, the mission of Project HoUSton is to provide relief items to individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Harvey. We will continue to strive for full transparency in communicating where your donations are going with the intent on giving each of you the peace of mind you deserve. All donations have been resourced for U-Haul rentals, gas, and feeding volunteers. Future donations would mimic the same designation. In order to continue our efforts with Project HoUSton, we are asking the community to consider giving additional monetary donations.
We are putting out another CALL TO ACTION to individuals, business leaders or trucking companies that have access to and/or would be willing to donate 18-wheeler trucks. Additionally, we are looking for individuals with a commercial driver’s license, willing to drive to Houston (over the next 2-3 weeks).
