Project Ember 2017 Scholarship Fund

Project Ember is thrilled to announce that the UltraCamp Foundation has offered to support our fundraising efforts by providing our community a  fully tax-deductible way to donate to our scholarship fund.  The UltraCamp Foundation is dedicated to making opportunities for young people, who would otherwise not be able, to experience camp by providing grants to qualifying camps within the United States. All funds raised for the UltraCamp Foundation through this campaign will go directly to families requesting scholarships funds at Project Ember. 

What is Project Ember?
Project Ember is a summer camp that empowers kids to design and build large-scale, interactive art with professional power tools.  And when we say large-scale, we mean big enough to for our campers to ride in, climb on, or operate. Check out our most recent project, a replica of the Port of Oakland, featuring a boat, truck and working crane!


Our 2017 Goal: 

We believe that project-based education promotes curiosity, creativity, collaboration as well as self-reliance, and empathy - skills that pave the way for a life of pride and fulfillment, no matter one's personal definition of success.

In our first year, Project Ember provided $13,000 of financial assistance to 25% of our campers. By April of 2017, we've already received $12,000 worth of scholarship requests and new applications arrive each week. We need your help to reach our goal of providing $20,000 worth of financial aid to our community this summer. 


I'm in! How Can I Help? 
Below is an outline of how your funds will support Project Ember families.  

Apprentice - $10-$100
We all start somewhere! Any size gift allows us to build up to full and partial scholarships.
Journeyperson - $275
You're honing your craft. This gift allows us to offer one half-scholarship.
Artisan - $535
You've completed your training! Send one kid to camp with a full-ride scholarship.
Grandmaster - $1685
The student becomes the teacher. This generous gift provides full tuition to 3 sessions of day camp or one week of overnight camp.
Guild Member - $2500
You're invested in the future of your craft. This far-reaching gift provides a full scholarship to overnight, a full scholarship to day camp, and one half-scholarship to day camp as the finishing touch.

(The UltraCamp Foundation is a DBA for the Daniel and Joelle Ashley Foundation. All donors will receive a letter from UltraCamp acknowledging receipt of their donation.)
